"sorry sir..."

A jay walker stopped by a policeman, and I was "stopped" by them...:-)

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm merely a guy who enjoys capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. Perhaps, it's like a traveller hoping to record his memorable journey, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Wow. This is a great shot, Hugo! These two guys and the speeding bus behind them which is only a little blurred. This picture tells a story!

@Shun: Thanks alot Shun!! I'm really pleased with the timing. Without the bus, the background details across the road would be too distracting...

I love this one Hugo!...what a geat story it tells and I love the colours and motion blur from the bus that isloates the two people so well!

@Ian Bramham: I'm so glad you like this one Ian! I really had to finish everything in a flash for this one - getting the right composition, focusing, checking the shutter speed and waiting for the bus to enter the frame; I also knew I could hardly have a second chance... Glad the image came out O.K.:-)

I always believe that getting a good shot (especially street pic) is both a matter of luck and that of patience and decisiveness. We cannot and should not "arrange" something to "happen", but we can probably be prepared and be able to recognize instantly such photo elements that can make an interesting pic...
