"dusty..." (stairscape, causeway bay)

Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm merely a guy who enjoys capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. Perhaps, it's like a traveller hoping to record his memorable journey, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

A gritty and interesting image. Makes one wonder about the kind of place it is. The slant ads to the feeling of claustrophobic disorientation!

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks alot Michael for leaving your thoughts and feelings... "What kind of place is this?" This is exactly the question that's puzzling me when I decided to take the shot. A place belonging to the young of the present, I suppose; and must admit I don't have the courage to climb up the stairs to explore...:-)

She's confused and so was I. She entered the frame just as I was about to press the shutter - I didn't expect anyone walking down this dim staircase...

@Vink: Thanks alot Vink! So relieved that some of you did enjoy this... The good, the bad, the ugly... this is definitely not a pleasant or beautiful image but this is so "Causeway Bay" and such a strong scene to me that I just "had" to take a few shots when it caught my eyes...

@Observing: Thanks for the kind comments!! As mentioned earlier, I had no clue to what this place actually was... nevertheless, when I was drawn to the scene, the atmosphere was so strong that I felt I had to take the shot.

I decided to visit some pix I missed while you're away ! :) Love this framing, Hugo, the imposant man on the poster opposed to the thin girl appearing shyly is real cool dialogue as I love them in photography ! And the colors (so many details to read) are fab*
