hong kong...

Climbing up the stair of the top floor (yesterday pic), I finally made it to the roof of this high-rise residential tower. I was stunned by this sight of almost the entire Hong Kong Island North and Kowloon South (the right part across the harbour)... Yes, the sky was gray and hazy, and the skyline not the most good-looking. But that's Hong Kong, my home town, and I really enjoy it... Managed to take a few snaps with my pocket dc before I was hurried to leave to carry on with my "work" of the day.

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm merely a guy who enjoys capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. Perhaps, it's like a traveller hoping to record his memorable journey, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

@Paco Díaz: Thanks Paco! Yes, I'm always in a hurry but that's when I could get shots I like.:-) Well, I'd never underestimate what a compact dc could achieve these days (most of my shots were actually taken with the Fuji F-series...) Do let me know if you decide to visit HK one day.

Hi Hugo... Now that's a view! A view only the penthouse owners (and high-rise workers) will only ever appreciate. It just goes to show how important it is to keep a compact camera with you all the time :-)

Hugo you have a superb picture here, well worth the climb :) I like the tone very much. I onced climbed to the top of an antenne tower (illegal) to get a shot. But your's is beautiful.

This is a superb view. I recognize several of the buildings. I even think I see the Island Shangri-la Hotel and a piece of Hong Kong Park. It makes me want to visit again real soon.

Hong Kong is very near the top (or maybe at the top) of my favorite cities list. You have done it justice with this gorgeous image.
