brothers and the harbour...

Posted by hugo poon (hong kong, Hong Kong) on 24 November 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

The lighting condition was so difficult that I knew the technical quality of the pic would be far from perfect, but I really enjoyed the mood of that night, probably just as much as these 'brothers'... Talking about brothers, I'm delighted to confess that k@'s "brothers" was in my mind (http://karinian.aminus3.com/image/2009-10-15.html) when I was drawn to this scene.:-)

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm merely a guy who enjoys capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. Perhaps, it's like a traveller hoping to record his memorable journey, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

o0o, I feel damn proud ! We have quadruplets now ! ;) I guess you experimented those flares in difficult lights here ? The noise here looks like a magic powder, I like the effect and above all those glittering diamond-like sparkles with those trafic-lights colors (red, orange, green) and the white strong structure, as if they where sailing over their own dream !
Bravo @nd Thanks again*

@k@: "Quadruplets?" Yes, you're exactly right! Can't tell you how wonderful I felt when these two "brother" caught my eyes!:-) BTW, though my dslr was with me, I decided to take this shot with my little compact - I thought the shutter sound of the dslr would be a little intrusive in this beautiful quiet night...

Your brothers have more than K@'s. :-) This is a very cool shot. I like the composition with the people on the bench and also the light coming across the water. This is a quite pleasant scene you've captured.

Well taken Hugo! Yet, as with Karine's shot - these two 'brothers' can't get any further apart from each other ^_^
