queen's road west & a night rider...

Strolling along this old familiar road at late hour (when I could only see things vaguely) made me feel like going back to where I was in the 70's... Just as I was indulging myself in this dream of the good old days, a young expatriate riding a modern bicycle brought me back to the present...:-)

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Oh, yes, i can see the wall & stone bannister in the background and this new angle allows us to see the scene in another way, cool. Plus we're back to the tones that are those i met you with on Am3, Hugo's night special hues ! I'll never forget the man crossing & pushing his trolley in those muted yellowish brown-gray tones, i still think about it. I like the man on his bike riding in your direction and the 3 fellows crossing in his, the other leaving. Not a lot of people around but all connected in the silence of this old stuffed with memories street...

This shot makes me miss HK so much. We used to live just around the corner and I also took bus 5/5C/5B home. My youngest was born in Tsan Yuk hospital, just a lift ride away from the top of that granite wall.

Yes, I can see yesterday's wall. Thanks for pointing it out. This is such a beautiful night shot. Superb lighting and tones. I like the almost empty street - it probably doesn't look like this at all during the daytime ;)
