A modern commerical building, a temple constructed in the Ming Dynasty and a man enjoying his solitude...

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

I like a lot your soft B&W here and also your angle, as if a fan was opening from the wall to the tower (i don't know if you see what i mean/feel ;) and love the man's attitude, so quiet... You must be a quiet soul yourself since despite of living in a busy town, your photos so often talk to us of peace & time passing slowly. I like that a lot...

@k@: Hey k@, my dear friend, you may be right... you must be right! When I look back now what I did these years, I do notice one thing that keeps drawing my soul - a precious "silence" in the people and the city life I'm meeting everyday! I just wasn't conscious of that until now!:-)

Superb composition! Big difference between these two buildings and I have a small smile by seeing that "Crocs" shoes are also known in China!:)

Beautiful stacking of elements again. From the grassy area to the temple to the commercial building. A summary of our modern world just in your single capture. And the man stays on the level of nature. His feet off the man made sidewalk, on par with the grass, choosing nature. Beautiful black and white.

The very old and the very new coexisting peacefully. The man certainly seems at peace, too. Beautifully done.

Looks like everything is changing, but his soul . He looks so calm and patient! He looks like a little kid finding very interesting place to sit and observe what is going on around him .

Can we see on the commercial building some sort of inspiration by the old times architecture?
