an orange "walla-walla" ...Posted by hugo poon (hong kong, Hong Kong) on 11 August 2012 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, during the construction of the Central - Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link. PS. "Walla-walla" is the nickname for this kind of motorboat (noisy engine), somewhat rarely heard these days. Once a very popular (economical) means of transport plying busily between the two sides of the Harbour. I can still remember that thrill to get onto one when I was a small boy!:-) Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, Hong Kong
I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...

@k@: Makes my day to read your comments my dear... "all the mess yet an organized one" this is exactly what I have been aspiring and striving to achieve! HK is such a terribly busy (messy) place yet it's extremely fascinating at the same time... "the heart of Lil' Hugo smiling at the photographer" You've made me smile k@! You know what, this wasn't the pic I planned to post, but for your yesterday's pic that reminded me to listen to my heart: 'I have to post a pic of these little old and shabby boats even if they do not appeal to the others.' Thank you!:-) Have a beautiful Sunday! @Ian Smith: Thank you Ian! We must pay a visit to this typhoon shelter next time you're in HK!:-) But what's really worrying me is how this place would be like when all these construction works are completed... |
