"delay no more???!"

Posted by

When our minibus passed by this trendy retail mall under decoration, all passengers were stunned. Well you might not understand, but the pronunciation of these words are so close to "fu_k your mother" in Chinese (Cantonese). Obviously, this mall had chosen these provocative words intentionally; the mall was eventually named "Delay No Mall"! Vulgar or humorous? I have the question but don't have an answer...

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

I love the pose of contemplation this rider reveals - as if he's pondering the suggestion he not delay. He finds himself heading forward on the bus - yet the vision of where he is going is obscured by a message he get moving. Such irony. Very well seen and captured.

I love it, the composition is great, it looks as though the subject is musing on things he might have delayed in life. A very thought provoking image Hugo! Well done.

Nice capture Hugo!

It sounds as controversial as the advertising here in the UK for a popular fashion chain - French Connection. All their adverts used the abbreviation FCUK Fashion (for example).

just brilliant irony here Hugo -- well as far as advertising goes, if you can remember the slogan the campaign was a success -- in this case i am guessing it was an overwhelming success! ;) of course quite shockingly so! an excellent visual -- this pensive, near silhouette against this abstract background of a desperate urban message. as for the amusing and culturally enigmatic accompanying anecdote -- simply enlightening and ironically shocking. amazingly presented, bravo!!
