one rainy summer day...

This may sound senseless: during the summer, I wished the hot, humid, rainy (stormy) weather could be over earlier; but now in the recent cool and dry days, I kept digging out pics that could remind me of the nasty summer...

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Hot and humid weather is not my favourite...this image is fantastic! Just enough depth to show the scene behind the rain drop filled window.

Wonderful image. As if everything was seen through the falling rain.

Very good image of the rain on the streets. I really do like it very much.
Your paradox is, I think, something that many people feels.
I know an acendote of a great spanish poet, Jorge Guillén, who writed one of his most important poems on the summer a day with no heathing in the winter of Cambrigde.
Cheers!

Every day is a good day for photography - but maybe not a good day to be working, rushing somewhere, shopping, etc... I hate being too hot, too cold, too wet and bored, but if a camera is in my hand, I'll be out shooting and enjoying mysefl :-)
The little F100 is doing a remarkable job in your hand Hugo.

No, that doesn't sound senseless. We are so miserable during the summer months, but it's winter and I'm cold. I've been looking at the sunny photos. :)

This is a really good image, Hugo. Well produced. The eastern two-thirds of the U.S. gets this kind of weather. It is almost unheard of in San Francisco. I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. I miss these heavy summer rains. The lightning, the thunder, the warm and sometimes torrential rains; and most of all that sweet, sweet smell as the storm passes. Thanks for sharing this.

I don't like cold and dry atmospheric combination...cold and humid is the best,if it was possible...in Malaysia,I hate the hot except humid;in Leeds,I hate only the dry.
