2 photo enthusiasts & a curious spectator...

Posted by
hugo poon (hong kong, Hong Kong) on 13 July 2010 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Or should I say, two curious spectators, to be more accurate... but I've never been able to overcome my shyness to come close enough to check out what they've got.:-)

No dramatic clouds, no spectacular sunset colours... yet nothing could repress the enthusiasm of these young enthusiasts!

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

This shot is so wonderful, again because of your excellent light. All three figures, and you can really see it in the larger version, have this nice golden touch on their faces. It's beautiful. The composition, with the city beyond, and the wonderful atmospheric fogginess is excellent.

Spectator one is deciding what their decisive moment is...while spectator two decided it was now. Little did they know they were being recorded by a world famous photographer! At least he could have shown shown them how to set a tripod. best...jf

LOL! Excellent! Great shot. I like the tones and composition here. A wonderful find. The guy, without the camera, was not "seeing the same" as the two photographers. Seems like he had another view in mind... Or maybe he was just in awe of her equipment. ;-)

A thoroughly delightful study of the art. I always get a kick out of people who walk by me when I am taking photos to see what I'm photographing. Sometimes they'll stop too -- snap! All good fun.

A brilliant candid Hugo...I actually feel so sorry for the spectator...he seems to want in on the experience and just can't...bet he went and bought himself a camera that day! Fabulously seen and captured Buddy:)

They all got in your frame. I specially love the spectator inspection on the girl's posture. It's a kind of things we can only see on a photo. Thanks for being there to capture the momment.

Great enthusiasm for the photographers and curiosity in man! Pictures with human players always give you surprises. What will be watching the master? Perhaps you know it! A magnificent shot!

With this image, i smile and i picture you caught by another one, caught by another one, caught by... ad.lib - and i love this repetitition & rhythm you offer here ! Funny, hypnotic, and full of meaning in our societies starving with more & more images (and we participate to that for sure ;) Love the very subtle background so much too !
