"mood of the night"

PS. "6 nights & 6 days with the X100" - This is a series of urban landscapes of Hong Kong taken with a sample Fujifilm X100 a couple of weeks ago. Just as I might be having another "photographer's block" I was given this marvelouss photo taking machine to test use; I got excited and 'hungry' again to capture any interesting street scene unrolling before my eyes...

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Your use of light is like Rembrandt. I am always thrilled to see these kinds of photos you take.

Looks a bit tight for space there . . I guess that's a common problem.

good format-used piece of work (vertical-framing-goodness HA) also given a touch of graphical-mode here :) just another ordinary nite well seen and crafted sir-poon.

Well, the night shots with the x100 are obviously great. No need of too high Iso and a superb shutter speed time, 1/210. This is really amazing. Have you tried with moving objects yet, like a car passing by or even people while they are walking? Im very interested to know since Im seriously thinking about buying it but I would not have the chance to try it first, like some have, hihi ;)

A beautiful image with a mixture of warm light on the right and cooler fluorescent light on the left. Somehow, the lighting works very well. The composition is gorgeous. An all around super shot.

The lights up there are like round luminous eyes of some Aliens watching the night slowly goes its way. I like the white & blueish line of those light opposed to the warmer red & yellow one on the other side, with the 2 women as a link. Strong perspective that brings us far, Hugo !
