The LARGER view:

FUJIFILM FinePix X100 1/85 second F/2.8 ISO 400 23 mm

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Dexter Chee from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

He loves him... nice series Hugo.

How long did you stay there, my dear hugo ? An interesting series and a study of the characters, and the different attitudes of people ! this homeless looks so clean, so IN, with a very powerful and interesting face and expression, he looks rather a star than a homeless ! so, he was a star of a day through you lens and by the other photographer ! have a great week-end Hugo !

@Anna.C: I stayed there for just five minutes or so... but definitely long enough to see diverse attitudes of people! Yes, he looks really cool and it's hard to tell he's a homeless until one takes a closer look at his hair:

larans from Lund, Sweden

Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United States

This light and depth-of-field really adds to the power of this capture - it is as though your two principals had emerged out of everyday life to explore their drama. Excellent.

Francisco Romero from Carbajal de la Legua, Spain

Great moment! And superb light. Even though he is backlit, his face is as clear as it gets. Excellent photograph!

k@ from Paris, France

Incredible that he stays still like a human statue others can approach from everywhere, this man has really something strong in himself, like a boddhisattva in disguise maybe ? As if trying to communicate a mute message you got whole. Impressive serie feel !

Ralph Jones from Detroit, United States

I like this series, now I am wondering what happened to the aloof girl, and what is the photographer focusing on. Mystery and intrigue abound. Great work Hugo.

Dokmateo from madird, Spain

Funny shot! He doesn't care taking picture of him! Clever composition! Where's the other girl and whos taking the picture?

I think I like (i) the best, however I like the "3 concepts" hidden in the back of (iii). Great shots all around.

I lie this one with the fellow photographer included.
And the man didn't realise of the interest he attracted?

I think this guy is getting a little irritated with all the photos. The other photographer, Hugo. Not you! ;-)
