"have a good day!"

Took these snaps one recent morning on my way to the office.:-)

"have a good morning!"

"good morning central"

Cheung Kong Center, Central, Hong Kong

FUJIFILM X10 1/250 second F/5.6 ISO 200 8 mm

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

How can they NOT have a good day when they can walk through buildings, under the sky, and over the streets, all at the same time. Such an engaging shot. Love it !! :-)

I expected it to be busier? But I like all three shots very much!

António Pires from Lisbon, Portugal

From a composition point of view I prefer the good morning central.

14 Nov 2011 11:25am

@António Pires: Yes, that's a beautiful sight especially in the morning light! I do enjoy the mood of these three young men just as much!:-)

Love the lightness of the image, all of that light bouncing around. Makes your subjects look just as light and airy. Are you noticing any big differences between the X100 and the X10 ?

14 Nov 2011 12:53pm

@Curly: Thank you!!! You're exactly right! It's the joyful light of the morning that has captured me!:-)
The X10 is quite a different tool despite a very similar body and controls. While the X100 is one enjoying the superb image quality of an APS sensor in a compact size, the X10 is a marvelous compact with great versatility... that said, the image quality of the X10 isn't bad at all. Here's the Larger view.

I love all these lines and your pristine colors! Something amazingly dynamic about your image. All those vanishing lines and reflections and light. Beautiful as always!

Terrific candid moment - they look very natural and relaxed at the start of the day - hope the feeling lasts!

16 Nov 2011 12:42pm

@Stephen: And let's hope that sunshine stays in the heart! Thanks Stephen!

Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, India

Such a fine composition with dramatic lines, lovely light, fabulous depth, detail and wonderful sense of scale and motion!! Hugo, what you so modestly label 'snap' is in fact an image that is made with strokes of complete mastery!! Simply so uplifting my friend:)

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

This beautiful shot reminds me, once again, of another reason I enjoy Hong Kong. It's so inviting to walkers even in busy central with the elevated and covered walkways. An excellent, joyous image, Hugo.
