The Larger view

Bonham Road, Hong Kong

FUJIFILM X-Pro1 1/100 second F/2.8 ISO 6400 27 mm (35mm equiv.)

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Amazing what can be achieved at this ISO!!! It's on par with my Canon 60D at ISO800 - damn! And look at the DR - almost as good as the D700! Shame I can't afford one - well, I mean my wife would never forgive me if I did :-)
Good capture my friend!

@Ian Smith: Sorry Ian, but just can't help showing you two more ISO6400 snaps:-) "bus captain and bus in motion"
& "an encounter"

António Pires from Lisbon, Portugal

They may well offer you one camera after the good publicity you are doing here.

@António Pires: All I'm asking is let me be one of the first to buy one!:-)

Marvelous point of view, Hugo. An eerie midnight hour. From this high tilted angle, it looks like a scene from a 3D game world.

I love this looking-down point of view and actually I have seen several great looking-down in your portfolio! Comparing to the open space created by looking up, this one makes the condensed feeling..It's absolutely a good way to show some city scene!

Wonderful night shot that shows a very wide range of light level. The level of detail seems to be fantastic. Excellent shot.

Some of us worry if we are able to get 1/100 second in daylight, yet these new Fuji cameras deliver speed and quality in the dark! I'm looking at the larger image in full screen and it's really difficult to find much evidence of grain, astounding!

I can hear them working in the emptied city, brave men. Your diving eye is excellent & those ISO totally crazy-impressive ;) I like the blue in the image, like the wink of some sky that will rise up later. Have a very good end of week, dear Hugo.

J'ai l'impression de me retrouver dans un film de Johnnie To (je suis un grand fan de "The mission").

Rich warm light and details...I love the viewpoint. It is as if watching a reality play take place below. Wonderful details.

Another of your signature photos. The light handling is great. But then, it always is regardless of camera.
