I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Beautiful sunset
but more important the photographer taking the beautiful sunset.
And more: you taking the photographer taking the beautiful sunset.

Another enthusiast, i got it whole ;) Just capturing the beauty of the moment, the simplicity of what is daily offered, just being Here to enjoy ? Ah, i sure relate to all this especially with our fav tool in hand - what a beautiful gesture we're all in, a gesture that has all to do with light. Light catching light. I like the pleonasm reflected here in your presence echoing the character's one. 2 photographers for 2 kinds of sun. Yes, let's never lose our enthusiasm, Hugo, whatever the situation, the sun that disappears once always reappears, a matter of time & patience. Take good care, night catcher here on the verge of your fav subject, at the door of the fading day/night !

@k@: What beautiful and wonderfully warm words you've left k@! I've been reading them over and over again and I'm still doing it! My heartfelt thanks!:-) You know me so well my friend. I'll seldom do a planned shooting and this sunset series is no exception. I happened to be there and just couldn't resist the charm! "... the sun that disappears once always reappears." So true! Isn't a sunset a most wonderful beauty which will never be staled by repetition!!! In this series, I simply attempted to capture this simple yet amazing charm of a sunset in a simple straightforward manner! No tilting, no extraordinary angle and almost no processing except cropping and resizing!:-)

Excellent shot and a good reminder to us of how to improvise with the tripod. Shortening that one leg allows him to get the camera closer to shoot over the promenade wall. Excellent atmosphere.

The title of this one reminded me of this photograph of yours, Hugo - IMHO what a great street photograph that one is!
I so often remember and look at that one.
