Ladder Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

me and "a disappearing street"

me and "out"

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

The way your shadow and his body dialogue is excellent in the shapes & body language. Love the diving feel and beautiful browny tones. Ladder, oh yes, sure, to climb up & down, Heaven or Hell, just choose your direction, men ! The depth is so vast in the blue "hole" at the top/bottom (inverted) of your image. Of course i enjoy this utterly, your presence is swinging high, you rock Hugo - always but here it's obvious.
Have a great end of week-end and please, on monday morning, mind the steps ! ;)

Iso 5000!
Wow Hugo, this has some impact as the light fades away into the distance, yet still hardly a sign of digital noise. It has the feel of leading into a dark tunnel and the man climbing the stairs seems to do so in order to escape.
Looks like a pretty big bag you have in your shadow self too!

28 Apr 2013 8:55am

@Curly: Can't remember how many times I've photographed these stairs before yet I'm still doing it every time I pass by... regarding the high iso, I have never noticed it until the pic was being posted.:-)

Basile Pesso from Barcelona, Spain

Wonderfully structured,, and of course I agree with Curly about the high ISO abilities of your toy.
