Better view the "Larger"
Another quiet night in this vanishing street market...
Gage Street, Central, Hong Kong
I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...
@Ronnie 2¢: Your observation is just exceptional!:-)
@Gérard Beullac: Yes, the street felt to be ours... yet it's a little sad for me to add that this beautiful street is disappearing real fast! If you look closed at the right, you could notice it's actually a construction site, a huge one! This was how it's like two years ago...
@k@: It's most gratifying to know you enjoy the mood of these night streets as I do!!! I was so drawn to them and just had to take these shots - I guess more than half of the scenes I photographed in the past few years have actually 'vanished'!
@k@: Oh I was referring to the street scenes not my files, all those traditional small businesses and local stores that have been replaced by new trendy restaurants and fashion shops...
@k@: It's fine k@... this happens all the time.:-) BTW, as I told Gérard, the street corner on the right was like this two years ago but it's gone!:-(
