FUJIFILM X-E1 1/52 second F/2.2 ISO 1000 53 mm (35mm equiv.)

I do not regard myself as a photographer. I'm an ordinary man but extraordinarily obsessed with capturing all the memorable scenes that I encounter in my everyday life. It's like an excited traveller craving to record his memorable journey in a memorable way, but in my case, it's the journey of my life ... If I can record my encounters in such a way that they leave an image on the mind of myself and other viewers, it's a tremendous joy and some accomplishment...
In terms of photography, I'm trying to preserve the moments as my eyes see "something" and my heart feels it too. As such, I seldom feel interested in planned, arranged or manipulated photographs...

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

The typical life of a market/ general dealer just finding those precious few minutes to calculate the tax returns on sales before asking the accountants to "facilitate" a better outcome! I love the scene and recognise many of the things that I'd find in a small shop or market stall in South Shields, those little things that everyone "needs" one day - parcel tape, duck tape, lint rollers, paint rollers, plastic buckets, and the shopping trolley for the old girl. TV ariel sockets vie with tubes of glue and toilet cleaners.
Where would we be without the convenience of these corner shops and stalls which provide everything under the sun!

@Curly: Thank you Curly!!! What really struck me was that she's actually a schoolgirl (on holiday or after-school) busy with her homework... not sure if I should call her a part-time student or a part-time storekeeper! Anyway, these traditional local convenience shops are just disappearing at an amazing pace.:-(

Packing up must take most of the night, I imagine !

She seems studying - ah, she is ! just read the first words of your answer up there - and absorbed in another world as if working to build up another future than her parents ? Who knows ? The perspective in diagonale includes her in the furnitures of the shop. She's part of that first world and already, through school work, on the road on another !

Struggling with math homework huh...well good thing she can still keep up at it. I love the blunt emotion you convey here. It reminds me of the bus stop area back in Lesotho. This one is excellent!
